Taleglot · last updated 20 October 2026
Taleglot is a website and app for learning Spanish by reading and listening to stories. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account ID from Google — never your Google password.
- Learning activity: reading progress, saved words, flashcard reviews, quiz scores, XP, streaks and badges, and your daily goal.
- Preferences: settings such as theme, reading speed and your time zone (to know when your day starts), stored in your browser and in cookies.
If you read without an account, your progress stays in your own browser and is not sent to us.
How we use it
- To run your account and keep you signed in (a secure session cookie).
- To save your progress and vocabulary and show your stats, streaks and reviews.
- To generate practice content: when you use AI features (example sentences, sentence feedback, word meanings, quizzes), the text involved is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to produce the result. We don't send your name or email.
We don't sell your data and we don't show third-party ads inside the app.
Where it's stored
Your data is stored on our own server. Passwords are stored only as secure one-way hashes.
Your choices
- You can remove saved words at any time from My words.
- You can ask us to delete your account and all its data, or for a copy of it, and we will do so.
- You can revoke Google sign-in access at any time in your Google Account settings.
Children
Taleglot is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app for important changes.
